A Drunken Love: Chapter 3

SPLOOSH!

I woke up instantly. I gasped for breath. Amy had splashed me with cold water to wake me up.

“What happened?” I asked.

“You passed out when I told you that you got me pregnant,” explained Amy.

I started to pass out again, but Amy grabbed me.

“You’re not starting this again!” Amy exclaimed.

I got back to my senses. Amy helped me get into the couch. She then sat down beside me. She then laid her hand on mine.

“Tails, you’re gonna be a dad,” Amy spoke softly.

I was caught off guard for the second time.

“This can’t be happening! I mean, I’m only 21! I don’t know how to raise a kid!” I exclaimed, very panicked now.

“Tails!” Amy shouted at me. She then calmed down. “We didn’t want this, but now we have to support a kid.”

I thought for a minute, then spoke up.

“Couldn’t you have an abortion?” I asked her.

“Tails, I will not have our child killed,” Amy said firmly.

There was no way around it. Amy was pregnant, and now I was going to be a father. I had one more thing to say.

“Have you told Sonic?” I questioned.

Amy got up and walked to the door. She opened it, looked back at me and spoke.

“No. I haven’t told him yet,” Amy said.

She then closed the door and left.

I was now alone in my house. I started to speak out loud.

“What’s Sonic gonna say when Amy tells him that she’s pregnant?” I said.

A thought then came to my mind.

“You’re pregnant?! Amy you wh***! That’s the last straw!!” Sonic shouted to Amy.

He then started to punch her in the stomach.

“Sonic no!!!” Amy shouted.

I then snapped back to reality.

“If that happened, I could never forgive myself,” I realized.

I looked at the clock. It was 7:00 p.m. Based on everything that happened today, I just needed a lot of sleep. I started walking up the steps when the phone rang.

“It’s probably Amy,” I thought as I walked back down the stairs.

I picked up the phone.

“Hello?” I asked into the phone.

“We gotta talk. Now. Meet me at the corner of Main Street and Zag Rd. Come alone,” a gruff voice said over the phone.

“Who is this?” I asked.

The person on the other end hung up. I placed the phone back down on the receiver.

“Who could that have been?” I asked myself.

After thinking for a while whether to go or not, I decided that I would go.

I grabbed my jacket and went out the door. Main Street wasn’t too far away, so I decided to fly there using my tails.

After a while, I reached the intersection. I saw a shadowy figure standing at the corner. I approached slowly.

“Did you call me here? Hello?” I asked the figure.

The figure turned around. It was Shadow!

“Shad--…” I was cut off.

Shadow grabbed me by the throat and threw me into an alley. I was flung right into the side of a dumpster. Before I could get up, Shadow was already over me, punching and kicking me.

“Shadow, why are you doing this?!” I managed to say.

“I can’t tell you that. Now shut up. I have a job to do,” Shadow replied.

I was hurting everywhere, coughing up blood. Shadow gave one final kick, spat on me, and started to leave me for dead. Now was my chance.

I rose up and jumped on Shadow. I punched him in the back of the head. He fell to the ground. I picked him up by his chest fur. I punched him again, knocking out a tooth.

“Now, why did you attack me?!” I shouted to Shadow, pumped up on adrenaline.

Shadow just grinned, blood running down one side of his mouth.

“I was paid to do it,” Shadow said.

I punched him again.

“Who paid you?!” I screamed at Shadow, blood flying from my mouth and hitting him in the face.

“I was paid by…”
